As received from a customer of a FailZero Basic AR15 Upgrade Kit:"I had recently taken your UCT Coated (FailZero) BCG to a Tactical Response course and wanted to give you a review of how it performed. As I am sure you are aware, there is a lot of dissension in the firearms community toward specially coated BCG's and whether or not they will perform under harsh conditions. This stance is probably justified as nearly all BCG's with similar claims have never lived up to them. Tactical Response is a well known training organization that has a history of proving the reliability (or lack thereof) of all types of equipment. Their classes are high speed and high ammo count which stresses equipment to levels not ordinarily seen on a range, but is exactly the type of conditions that will tell you if things will function or fail when they are needed most. James Yeager, owner and instructor for Tactical Response, is very vocal about things that do not work. Prior to the class I had informed him that my rifle was running a FailZero BCG and I had asked him what his thoughts on it were. Although he had not heard of FZ, he pointed out that if it got through the class it would have been the first, as all other rifles running coated BCG's or claims of non-lubrication have failed. The class was Fighting Rifle, and in two days time, approx. 1500 rounds ran through the rifle. The only cleaning that had been done was after approx. 500-600 rounds (day 1) the BCG was scrubbed down with a stainless steel brush. The only lubrication that was used was on the charging handle. The BCG was dry from the start. I am pleasantly surprised to say that the rifle had not malfunctioned at all during the entire course. In fact it was one of the few rifles that didn't have a single malfunction." |
